Byker
Byker is an area of Newcastle situated to the east of the city centre and bordered on the south by the River Tyne.
In the past there was a lot of industry located in Byker – much of it connected with the river. Over recent years much of the industry has gone.
Getting There
There are many buses connecting the centre of Newcastle with Byker. And Byker has its own station on the Yellow Line of the Tyne and Wear metro system.
