Three Pigeons, High Street, Guildford
The Three Pigeons is an historic old pub situated at the eastern end of the High Street in Guildford.
The pub used to be part of the Nicholson’s chain but is now operated by the Stonegate pub company. In reality the change of ownership has made little difference.
It’s a spacious pub inside with two levels. The larger bar on the ground floor features 6 hand pumps with a varied selection of well kept beers. The upstairs has a smaller bar with a cut down selection. The staircase is impressive and there are some nice tables at the front of the first floor with a view out into the High Street.
The interior is very traditional with dark wood panneling and red ceilings. The building itself is listed and beer has apparently been sold there since 1646. There is a small smoking courtyard out the back.
Food is available daily from a varied menu, but I’ve not eaten here.
