Rowbarge

Sprawling riverside pub on the Wey Navigation north of Guildford.
The Rowbarge always looks inviting as you drive north across the A320 bridge over the River Wey towards Woking from Guildford. But it’s not immediately obvious how to get to it. The secret is the road through the Bellfields estate which leads down to the river bank. Alternatively you could arrive by boat or a pleasant walk up the towpath from Guildford.
Inside the Rowbarge there are two main bars – one of which stages the live music events. There’s a covered seating area just outside and for sunny days a grassy riverside area beside and beyond the car park.
The Rowbarge offers a real treat for real ale lovers as it carries a good range of predominantly local beers – including some from Surrey Hills Brewery. The beers taste well-kept and the staff are happy to let you taste the beers if you’re not sure which one to have.
Food is available but I’ve not eaten here.
As mentioned earlier the Rowbarge features regular live music events including open mic nights every Tuesday night where anyone can take part. There are also occasional beer festivals.
Definitely worth a visit.
