The building used to be a water mill and the water stream stills runs through and beneath the building although the wheel itself is no longer in place.

Up until recently the Gomshall Mill was part of the Bluebeckers chain and although that’s no longer the case not much seems to have changed.

As you enter the Gomshall Mill there is a bar and a seasting area to the left and it’s OK to just have some drinks there. A corridor off to the right leads to the dining area. There are some balcony seating areas too although they may only open at busier times.

One improvement over the Bluebeckers days is the quality of the real ale selection. There are 4 hand pumps and the choices are generally taken from smaller breweries rather than nationals or regionals. On my last visit there were beers from King’s of Horsham, Andwells and Hogs Back.

The food is reasonably priced and very tasty and is available at most times. There is a regular menu and some specials are occasionally available. Portions are fairly big so you shouldn’t leave hungry. Child-sized portions of some main courses and desserts are available too.

There is seating outside the front of the pub and a sizeable garden with a children’s play area out the back. The fast moving mill stream runs through the garden but it’s well fenced off.

The staff are attentive and efficient. I would definitely reccomend the Gomshall Mill if you’re in the area.

Just before heading out on a walk along the North Downs to Guildford, we decided to start here with a coffee. Although it was before opening hours we were greeted by extreamly friendly staff, who said that coffee was no problem offered buscuits as well as scones ,Excellent coffee and yummy hand made buscuits….. and the best bit FREE OF CHARGE Such a lovely gesture made a really special start to our day . Thank you we’ll be back

Been meaning to drop in for ages and finally did yesterday. The staff were so friendly, the food was just delicious and the choice of local beers excellent. We sat in the garden in the sun and had a very happy couple of hours. We will definitely be going back. Recommended.

Many thanks for an excellent meal on Saturday 3rd October. All 4 persons really enjoyed the superb service from the ladies, the excellent choice of menu and the quality of the food. Been a long time since we had a 5 star dinner and service in the local area.
