The Hunters Lodge, Brookwood
Large Vintage Inns pub between Brookwood and Knaphill.
Since the demise of the Brookwood Hotel to vitally needed office space the Hunters Lodge is now the only pub in Brookwood.
The pub is set back from the busy Bagshot Road and there is a spacious car park. There are a few outside tables at the front and a large garden and decked seating area behind the pub.
The interior has been refurbished in a pretend traditional style but the general feeling is of open space even though there are many tables.
The Hunters Lodge is mainly orientated towards diners with an extensive menu – and food is available throughout the day. I’ve not eaten here but I’m assured by family members that the food is good.
But it is OK just to have a drink at the Hunters Lodge and there area a couple of real ales available. On my last visit the Hall and Woodhouse Boondoggle had just run out but the Fullers Summer Ale tastred very good. I’m told the selection of ales can be quite eclectic apparently.
It’s certainly a welcoming pub, and child friendly too although there are no climbing frames.
