The Pommelers Rest is a large Wetherspoon’s pub on the southern end of Tower Bridge – right on the junction with Tooley Street.
It’s a grand building from the outside. Inside there are two main seating areas and it’s usually possible to get a seat – even at busier times.
The real ale selection is not vast and the quality often seems to disappoint so consequently I seldom visit this pub. It does have Cask Marque accreditation though.
I have eaten here in the past and the food was OK. You can choose from the standard ‘Spoons selection.
There are much nicer pubs in this area – for example the Draft House and Dean Swift (to be reviewed soon). But obviously the Wetherspoon’s prices are cheaper in this increasingly expensive area.
