White Swan, Aldgate
The White Swan is a small two-roomed Shepherd Neame pub in the backstreets around Aldgate. It’s close to both Aldgate and Aldgate East tube stations.
The pub is inviting and friendly, and is popular with office workers – both at lunchtimes and after work. Because of this I believe the pub closes earlier than you may expect in the evening and it’s not open at weekends.
The Shepherd Neame real ales are always well-kept – expect Master Brew, Spitfire and whatever the current seasonal beer is. There is a good selection of bottled beers too – as long as you like them ice cold.
I have eaten at the White Swan in the past but not for some time. The food is good, but this is not the cheapest place to in eat in the Aldgate area.
