Woodins Shades, Liverpool Street
The Woodins Shades is a one-room Nicholson’s pub on Bishopsgate – right opposite Liverpool Street station and at the northern end of Middlesex Street.
It gets busy at lunchtimes and after work with office staff and commuters. The interior is narrow with not much seating, so be prepared to stand.
Getting served seems easy though as there are plenty of staff and they know what they’re doing. The beer tasted fine and the real ale selection is typical Nicholson’s. I’ve never eaten here but food is available.
Worth a trip if you’re in the area. Definitely open on Sundays because of its proximity to Petticoat Lane market.
