Lively Nicholson’s pub next to Liverpool Street station.
The interior is a bit gloomy inside with all the dark wood panelling and tables, but it does have a welcoming atmosphere. Given it’s position right next to the station it’s not surprising that it gets really busy in the late afternoons. But it seems to keep busy throughout the evening so it must be doing something right.
In common with many other Nicholson’s pubs, the real ale selection is actually quite good. The beers I’ve drunk here have always tasted well-kept.
Food is available at the White Hart, but I’ve not eaten here.
The pub is open on Sundays – unusual for the city of London, but may be due to it’s proximity to Petticoat Lane Market.
