This extremely popular Wetherspoon’s pub nestles against the corner of Liverpool Street station, and is effectively is the station bar.
I’ve no idea what the building was used for before being a pub, but the Hamilton Hall sits in a high-ceilinged space complete with a raised balcony in one corner over the main bar. The walls are decorated in an edwardian or victorian style (not sure which) and the ceiling itself features painted, moulded figures. There is also an outside seating area right by the main station entrance.
The beers seem well kept with approx 8 to 10 on at any one time. There are plenty of staff, so getting served was easy – something you need to rely on if you’re catching a train. They’ve even got the Liverpool Street station departures summarised on monitors set into the bookcases.
Food is the standard Wetherspoon’s selection, but I’ve never eaten here so can’t comment on the quality.
