Cosy pub in the back streets near Temple tube station and the Aldwych one-way system.
As you walk through in the door there is a central bar surrounded on three sides by seating areas. The left side is separated off at times by a heavy curtain – for what purpose I’m not sure.
The pub is currently branded as Taylor Walker but this may have nothing to do with the current ownership. On the bar there are 3 (or maybe 4) hand pumps serving a varied selection of real ales. The Titanic Shugborough I had tasted very good – so I’m happy to assume they are kept well.
Food is available but I’ve not eaten here.
I enjoyed the Devereux – it’s a good pub, but slightly put in the shade by the Edgar Wallace just a few doors down the street.
