The Iron Duke, Mayfair, London
Formerly known as Fuller’s Ale Lodge, the Iron Duke is situated in a small side street off Bond Street.
The pub is initially narrow but opens out beyond the bar into a squarer seating area at the back. There is also an upstairs seating area with a TV for sporting events. Check out the William Morris type wallpaper – featuring in a number of Fuller’s pub now – including the Round House, Covent Garden and the Salutation in Hammermsith.
On sunny afternoons most people seem to be standing outside the pub and there are shelves to rest your pints on.
There are only 3 handpumps and the choice is straight Fuller’s – ESB, Pride and Discovery on my last visit. Unfortunately the Pride tasted a bit tired, and I wasn’t the only one drinking it.
Food is available but I’ve never eaten here.
