The Lamb and Flag, Covent Garden, London
Popular two floor pub around the corner from Covent Garden – set back slightly from Garrick Street. The timber interior is obviously very old and there is a busy but friendly vibe in the bars. The upstairs is a bit more relaxed and a seat by the front windows on a summer evening can be heaven. But you will struggle to find any free tables at certain times of the day.
This pub used to one of my favourites for many years as the varied selection of beers was always kept well, but there are now better pubs in the area for beer.
I recently returned after being told that the beer was getting better, but I have to say that the quality of the Harvey’s Best I had was not good. It’s such a shame because this is such a beautiful and historic pub.
