Farmers Boy

Spacious pub on the busy London Road just east from the centre of St Albans and close to the station.
The pub is open plan and the seating areas extend down either side of the central bar. The wooden floor and furniture reflects a more modern kind of traditional than some of the older pubs in St Albans. There is a small beer garden to the right of the pub.
The Farmers Boy is the base for the Verulam Brewery which is now brewing again after being closed for a while. As well as their own excellent beers other selections on the bar were from Wadworths and JHB on my last visit.
Food is served from 12:00 noon to 9:00pm on most days (until earlier on Thursday and Sunday). I’ve not eaten here but the food does look and smell good though.
The pub has a lively atmosphere in the evenings and at weekends and is great last stop on the way back to the station after a pub crawl of St Albans.
There is live music every Thursday night.
