Attrractive Hall & Woodhouse pub in the tiny village of Avon. The pub is on the B3347 road which runs from Ringwood to Christchurch.
The pub looks traditional from the outside but has been extensively refurbished inside – in the common Hall & Woodhouse light wood style. There is a large dining area and a large garden down by the river.
The standard range of Badger real ales is available at the New Queen – including the current Hall and Woodhouse seasonal. This was Lemony Cricket on my last visit and it tasted superb.
The staff were very attentive and the food looked good but I haven’t eaten here.
Given its location I was surprised by how busy the New Queen was – the sign of a good pub.
