Small one room open plan bar nestling in this busy shopping street in the North Laine area of Brighton.
The interior is mainly wooden but it feels homely. The bar is on the back wall with all the seating areas in front of it. At times The Office can get very busy which is not surprising given its location. The atmosphere is friendly.
Drinks-wise, The Office is predominantly known or its large selection of gins – at least 40 available on my last visit. You can order them from the menu that contains a description of each.
Real Ale is available from the single hand pump on the bar. On my last visit the Franklins English Garden Golden Ale was tasty, but I was the only one drinking ale. Two real ciders are available from barrels sitting on the bar. A selection of bottled craft beers is also available.
Thai food is available at lunchtimes and in the evening, but I’ve not eaten here.
Free wi-fi is available (via the Cloud).
Music features at The Office, with an open mic night every Wednesday and jazz every Friday night.
The pub is between two other great Brighton pubs – the Lord Nelson and theĀ Basketmakers Arms.
