Hampton Arms, Brighton
Large traditional pub in the back streets close to the busy Western Road.
Entering the Hampton Arms the bar is on your left hand side. The seating areas at the right and beyond the bar.
Four or five and pumps dispense a good selection of real ales – usually local ones. The beer seems to be fairly well kept but not as good as some other pubs in the area. Beer festival is focusing on single breweries are held occasionally.
Food is available but I’ve not eaten here.
At the back there is a small courtyard garden with wooden tables.
Overall I liked the atmosphere of the Hampton Arms but the inconsistencies in beer quality mean that I’m much more likely to visit other pubs when in Brighton. It is quite close to the Temple Bar and also the new Craft Beer Company pub further along Upper North Street towards the centre of Brighton.
