*** Closed Spring 2011 – Rumoured to be being demolished and replaced by offices ***

The Crown and Anchor, Wimborne all boarded up after closure in Spring 2011. Future looks very uncertain
Allegedly the tenants only got 7 days notice to quit from Badger Pubs – after they’d spent a lot of money on the pub and brought it back up. Sad news as it’s always been a great pub on the occasions I’ve visited.
Original review read…
A Hall & Woodhouse pub situated by Walford Mill on the road north out of Wimborne.
The pub is quite cosy inside with a good friendly atmosphere. The feel is traditional overall but a recent external makeover has given it a more modern feel.
Beers at the Crown & Anchor are Hall & Woodhouse (Badger) regulars plus the current seasonal. They have always tasted well kept.
Food is available but it’s some years since I’ve eaten here. A Sunday lunch at a table by the river is a good experience.
