Backstreet locals pub right by the city wall and close to the famous Eastgate Street clock.
I stumbled across this pub on my walk round the city wall and it looked inviting. It’s bigger than you think inside with a smaller room at the front and a much larger room behind. The walls inside the Albion are covered with old pictures and signs – something to keep you occupied for some time.
The real ale selection on my last visit was a bit disappointing with only Robinsons Best available. This tasted a bit average but I’ve heard that about Robinsons beer. I believe the real ale selection is usually more interesting.
The pub wasn’t busy on my last early evening visit the feels very friendly and conversational.
Food is available from a varied menu but I did not eat here.
