Snacks in Fuller’s Pubs

Published: Jul 1st, 2010 | Author: The Beeralist

I recently had a business meeting in Hammersmith in West London and afterwards I was able to visit a few of the pubs in that area that I hadn’t been to for a while. The first two pubs – the Dove and the Salutation were Fuller’s pubs and although I didn’t stay long in either, I was a little peckish and so asked for a bag of salted peanuts.

In both pubs I was told that they didn’t sell bags of peanuts any more, but that nuts were available to buy by the small plateful. Small was the right description for the plate, but not for the price which was £2.20 in the Dove I believe. I forget the price in the Salutation but it was similar. Obviously I decided in both pubs not to buy any nuts.

I was surprised at the premium price for something that you can buy quite cheaply in a supermarket. I fail to see how Fuller’s can get away with charging so much, especially when bags of crisps were available at much more realistic prices.

Luckily the Hammersmith Ram a bit further up King Street was happy to sell me a bag of peanuts for about 80 pence I seem to remember.

How much are snacks in your local?

Outrageous prices that are unjustified in my opinion,as for crisps and the prices of them for that bag of fresh air is even worse i have seen walkers crisps at 79p.
Try some Wasabi nuts for a real mind blowing sensation they hit the spot and wont cost you half as much.
