Reassuringly nothing had changed in the intervening period – it’s still the same back street boozer that it always has been. Four handpumps were in use – ESB, London Pride, Doom Bar, and Brewers Gold. I’ve tried all of them in the past but favour the Crouch Vale Brewers Gold these days since it doesn’t interfere too much with work in the afternoon.

The menu is predominantly ‘greasy spoon’ caff, but the food is good and it comes quickly, which you don’t always get. It’s reasonably priced too – I had two pints and a plate full of food all for less than £9.00.

I won’t leave it as long before going back again.
