Large 3-roomed pub in the centre of Jameston – on the A4139 Tenby to Pembroke road.
The front entrance to the pub is on an old part of the A road – a short diversion has been built around the pub at some point which is now the main road. This leaves the pub entrance on a quiet stretch of road by a crossroads. This small stretch now forms the main parking for the pub although there is an extra parking area about 100yds along the road towards Tenby.
The more traditional seating areas are found at the front of the pub, with the large family room round the back. This room contains a jukebox, TV, dart boards and a pool table.
As the name suggests, the pub is situated close to the popular Swanlake Bay and many tourists mix with the locals after a day on the beach.
There are two hand pumps for real ale. Expect to see Doom Bar (like many pubs in the area), but Brains Rev James was available on my last visit and it tasted very well kept.
Food is available at lunchtimes and in the evenings. The menu contains typical pub food choices with some children’s options. I do recommend the Thai green curry – it was very tasty. The prices are reasonable.
Outside the front and side of the pub there is a large beer garden.
The pub has free wi-fi – ask for the code at the bar.
