Tiny and basic back-street pub close to South Wimbledon tube station. Despite its ‘locals’ feel the Trafalgar is actually a very welcoming pub – good for conversation and a game of darts.
The pub is divided into two areas – cosy seating around the bar and a more open and brighter area that features the dartboard.
People head to the Trafalgar for the excellent selection of real ales that are available. I believe there are 6 hand pumps and the beer is always well-kept. The Trafalgar is regularly in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and has won many awards over the years.
Food is available, but I’ve never eaten here. There is a curry night every Thursday and Live jazz music on Sunday afternoons. The pub is only open at lunchtimes later in the week and at weekends – best check by phone.
The Trafalgar can usefully be combined with a visit to the nearby Sultan for a great evening of real ales.
