Double Locks on the Exeter Ship Canal
Exeter is a large historic city in Devon which grew up around a prominent hill by the River Exe. It has many pubs – including some good ones.
You can locate the pubs on a map here.
Getting to Exeter
Exeter has two railway stations – Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central.
Exeter St Davids is the larger of the two and is served by mainline trains operated by First Great Western. Trains come in from London, Bristol, Plymouth.
Exeter Central as you may guess from the name is right in the centre of Exeter. It used to be an extremely busy station but lost out some years ago to St Davids. South West Trains services coming from London via Yeovil and Honiton call here before dropping down the hill to St Davids. There are also trains operating down to Exmouth via Topsham.
